Made another basketball journal for the assistant coach. She wasn't at a lot of the games, and I forgot about her :( Thank goodness the team is having an after-season celebration this week!
Also made the baseball journal for my co-worker.

Day 15 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
February Day 3.
Today I stitched 4 basketball journal covers for Annalise's basketball team. These journal covers are an in the hoop embroidery machine project from http://www.fivestarfonts.com/
These journal covers are quickly becoming my "go-to" project when I need a gift for any reason. The cover holds a small notebook, and is perfect to slip into bookbags, a purse, or jeans pocket. I made them for Annalise's soccer team last fall (with soccer fabric, of course), and included one in the set I made for the school fall festival. Her class' theme was Road Trip, so I made the journal cover out of Route 66 fabric!

Day 14 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
February Day 2
Today I worked on the knit scrap yarn afghan for Annalise. I am on the third side of the outer border.
My parents came to visit this weekend, and Mom and I spent some time going through my yarn stash. Mom has been working on knitted and crocheted scarves as part of her projects. I gave her 2 garbage bags of yarn that I won't use. Mom finished 2 scarves while she was here, so she is working fast! Annalise helped with organizing, and I was able to get lots of yarn into 2 carriers. It is all stacked neat, and grouped by colors, so sstarting a new scarf won't mean having to search for the yarn that I want. Should have taken pictures of the before and after of the stash, but didn't think about it in time!

Day 12 Family Sew 12 Challenge (January 31, 2012)
I did it! I got all 12 days for January!
Today I worked on the knit scrap yarn afghan for Annalise. I am on the second side of the outside border.
I also got an order for 2 sets of coasters from one of my co-workers, so those will be in February's projects!

Day 11 of Family Sew 12 Challenge (January 28, 2012)
Today I started a new scarf to have a portable project when I am waiting on Annalise to finish basketball practice or dance class. It is pink and yellow, rather thick yarn. I actually started it Friday night, but didn't like the pattern I was using, so ripped it all out and started over. Still not entirely happy with how it is working, but it is better than it was.
Day 10 of Family Sew 12 Challenge (January 23, 2012)
A friend of mine sent me a picture and asked if I could re-create it in filet crochet. I told him I would try, and that is one thing I worked on today. The figure will actually be a free-standing piece, like a snowflake. I am about a quarter of the way done.

Day 7 of Family Sew/Craft 12 Challenge
I had a very productive day today. Granted, I did more than an hour today, but I actually finished some things.
I finished a burgundy and gray pearl necklace (should have been finished at Christmas) and matching earrings for my sister . I worked on the matching bracelet, but did not quite finish it. Maybe I can get it finished on the last day of my long weekend. I also finished a lampwork necklace from a Make It Take It kit distributed at Michaels back during the fall. The kit supplied all of the beads, stringing wire, crimps, and clasps. The only thing I had to supply was a pendant, which I bought at the time the kits were given out. I have two other kits like that, so maybe will finish those later this week. And I worked on Annalise's knit afghan - finished the 1st side of the inside border - 3 more sides of inside border to go!

Day 5 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
I started a new scarf this afternoon and worked on it during Annalise's basketball game. I got about 8 inches done, then had to put it up. The game was a nail biter during the last quarter, and I was afraid of dropping stitches!

Day 4 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
Today was sort of a rainy, stay inside day. I worked on going through some craft magazines and books and getting rid of ones that I know I will never use. Felt good, will take another box to the thrift store on Saturday.
I worked on my knitted afghan today, and maybe I will finish it soon. I have started the first side of the inside border, but it is on the long side of the afghan. I may start a new scarf this week, to have a portable project to work on during Annalise's basketball practice. I need to spend some time organizing the sewing room and get stuff put up and off my cutting table, then make some monogrammed journals for Annalise's basketball team. I also need to finish the jewelry for my sister, and do the purse accessories for mom.

Day 3 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
I had forgotten how long it takes to do counted-cross stitch!
I worked on my counted cross stitch UFO tonight for an hour. You can't see anything that I accomplished, at least I can't. Maybe I'm looking at the big picture too much, no pun intended. I'm trying to get all the outline of white and cream done where I am actually having to count. Once I get the cream finished, the rest is filled in with black. Then I can take this project with me to things like Annalise's basketball practice.
Did I mention that this is a Georgia "G" in antiqued colors? You are supposed to make some sort of lodge pillow out of the finished piece. Not sure if that is what this will become or not. At this rate, it may not get finished this year.......

Day 2 of Family Sew 12 Challenge
I spent my time today working on a knit afghan that I started in the spring of 2011. It is an afghan that uses scrap yarn, so no telling how long the scrap yarn has been taking up space in my carriers (yes I said carriers) of yarn. The pattern came from Mason Dixon Knitting, a book that I checked out of the local library. As long as the library has it, I will not buy it and add to my craft book stash! I promise to do a better job of posting pictures as work progresses.
